Please do not mail irreplaceable originals until Aaron reviews your project and sends the safest next step.
1

Wait for Aaron to review the request first

Do not mail originals until you receive a quote, packing guidance, and the correct shipping next step.

2

Take a quick photo before packing

Photograph the box, labels, and media groups. This helps document what is being sent and can help identify formats.

3

Keep related items together

Keep tape cases, reel boxes, photo envelopes, notes, and labels with the original media whenever possible.

4

Use sturdy packaging

Use a strong box with padding around the media. Avoid envelopes for tapes, reels, or fragile items.

5

Use tracking

Choose a shipping method with tracking and keep the receipt until Aaron confirms the package arrived safely.

6

Include your contact information

Place your name, phone, email, and invoice or quote reference inside the box so the shipment can be matched quickly.

Inside the box

  • Your name, phone number, and email.
  • Any quote or invoice number if you have one.
  • A short note if certain tapes, reels, or photos are especially important.
  • Packed media grouped by format or family label when possible.

Media-specific tips

  • VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, Video8, Digital8, and MiniDV: keep cases and labels with the tapes.
  • 8mm and Super 8 film: keep reels in their boxes when available and avoid rewinding brittle film by hand.
  • Photos, slides, and negatives: group by envelope, event, or family label when possible.
  • Audio cassettes and microcassettes: keep cases and any handwritten notes with the tapes.

After you ship

Keep your tracking receipt. Aaron will confirm when the package arrives and will keep the project moving through digitizing, digital delivery, and return of original media.
