Where is Past Forward Convert located?+

Does Past Forward Convert offer mail-in service?+
Yes. Customers outside Northeast Wisconsin can mail in tapes, film, photos, slides, or audio recordings from anywhere in the United States after requesting a quote.
Does Past Forward Convert offer Google Drive delivery?+
Yes. Google Drive delivery is available and is one of the easiest ways to share converted family videos, photos, or audio files with relatives.
Does Past Forward Convert offer USB copies?+
Yes. USB delivery is available for customers who want a physical copy of their digital files.
Does Past Forward Convert make DVDs?+
Yes. DVD creation is available as an optional add-on, but Google Drive and USB are the primary delivery options because they are easier to preserve and share long term.
How much does media digitization cost?+
Pricing depends on the media type, quantity, condition, delivery method, and timeline. Every project is a little different, but the pricing page gives starting points and a free quote provides the clearest estimate.
How long does digitizing take?+
Turnaround depends on project size, media condition, and current queue. Small projects are usually simpler to schedule, while larger family archives may be handled in stages.
What if I do not know what kind of tape I have?+
That is common. Upload or send a photo of the tape, reel, slide box, or cassette, and Aaron can help identify the format before quoting.
Do customers keep their original media?+
Yes. Customers keep their original tapes, film, photos, slides, and audio recordings after the project is complete.
Can old or damaged media always be saved?+
Not always. Many tapes and films can still be digitized, but condition varies. If there are issues, Past Forward Convert communicates clearly and avoids promises that cannot be guaranteed.
Can customers mail in tapes?+
Yes. Past Forward Convert accepts mail-in media conversion projects from customers anywhere in the United States after a quote and packing plan are confirmed.
What delivery method is best?+
Google Drive is best for easy sharing, USB is best for a physical copy, and DVDs are useful as optional add-ons for relatives who still use disc players.
Is this only for VHS?+
No. Past Forward Convert handles VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, Video8, Digital8, MiniDV, 8mm film, Super 8 film, slides, photos, negatives, audio cassettes, and microcassettes.
Can moldy tapes be saved?+
Sometimes, but mold needs to be handled carefully. Do not play a moldy tape in your own equipment. Send photos first so the condition can be reviewed before a quote is confirmed.
How long do VHS tapes last?+
There is no perfect expiration date, but VHS tapes were not designed for permanent storage. Heat, humidity, dust, mold, and repeated playback can all affect picture and sound over time.
What is the difference between Hi8 and Digital8?+
Hi8 and Digital8 tapes can look similar from the outside, but they record video differently. If the label is missing or unclear, a photo of the cassette can usually help identify the format.
Can I watch converted VHS videos on a Smart TV?+
Usually yes. Converted files can often be played from a USB drive, computer, casting device, or shared cloud folder depending on your TV and home setup.
Do I get my originals back?+
Yes. Original tapes, film reels, photos, slides, negatives, and audio recordings are returned after the project is complete.
What if I am preparing a memorial, anniversary, or graduation gift?+
Share the date and goal when requesting a quote. Time-sensitive projects can often be prioritized by choosing the most meaningful tapes or photos first.
