How to Prepare Your Media for Digitizing

A little organization helps, but you do not need to make the project perfect before asking for help.

Keep labels with the originals

Even messy labels can be useful. Do not remove stickers, sleeves, reel boxes, or handwritten notes before quoting.

Group similar items

Separate full-size tapes, small camcorder tapes, film reels, photos, slides, and audio when you can. If not, a mixed box is still workable.

Share your goal

Mention whether the project is for a memorial, gift, archive, school, church, or family sharing. That helps shape the quote and timeline.

Ready to preserve your media?

If this article sounded like your family box, send a rough count or upload a photo with a quote request. You do not need to have it all sorted first.

Photo identification welcome

Not sure what you have? Send a photo and I can help.

Whether it is one tape or a full family archive, the first step is a clear, no-pressure quote.
